iPhone U

Between the use of Twitter in recent revolts in Iran and now U of C, San Diego creating an iPhone app for its students, I am becoming more and more certain that the value of new literacies is greatly in the finding and sending of information.  It has a clear practical value, a bottom line.  The literary seems so far away.  What role does imagination play in the spitting of bits into the air?
